Spoon Dances from Turkey

Central western Turkey is a region known for its spoon dances, called Kaşık Oyunları. Each subregion has it's own style. Several examples are:
The lively spoon dances from the region of Selifke on the Mediterranean. The dance Türkmen Kızı demonstrates the everyday work of a Turkish woman: milking, making butter, and kneading bread. The dances Salama and Keklik (partridge) are accompanied by the rhythmic patterns of four wooden spoons Kaşık that are played with the hands while dancing.
