The ANAR DANA training projects are a series of aprox. 10 intensive weekends of 12 hours each. Dancers decide upon the repertoire of 7 dances in the introductory weekend. We learn the techniques of each of the dance styles decided upon, do dance technique training and yoga (Awaken Your Dancing Body! is an integral part of the course), learn about the cultural and historical backgrounds for the different dance styles, and learn music analysis, dance notation, choreography, staging, stage make-up and costumes. There is a certificate of participation for all who complete the program. The new season of ANAR DANA West Coast (with classes in the Bay Area, Seattle and Online) is about to begin with a Virtual Introductory session April 5-6 & 12-13, 2025.
