Turkish Zeybek in 9/4 from the Aegean Region
Zeybek is a dance in a very slow 9/4 rhythm from Aegean region of SW Turkey. Masculine Zeybek is an iconic dance of Turkey because it was a dance style Atatürk performed to spark Turkish nationalism. Less known are the softer women’s styles of the dance.
