Argentine Folk Dance- Chacarera

Chacarera is a regional dance, originally from Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina. It has become a national symbol for regional Argentine culture, much as Tango is the symbol of the urban culture of Buenos Aires.
The dance is accessible, the basics are quick to learn with no previous experience. At the same time there is opportunity for much improvisation and embellishment as your knowledge of the dance deepens.
Chacarera is danced in lines vis-a-vis a partner, as in contra dance. You don't need a partner for this workshop though! Come give one of my favorite dances a try!
